RedSpec™ (Web)

We are excited to release RedSpec™, the same reliable sizing tool built in the Cloud.

Your work is secured to your user-id, access limited to only you, or those you chose to share with
Hosted in Microsoft Azure, secured, backed up and highly available
Import old .RED files created by RedSpec™ Desktop, and save the design in the cloud
- Click on the "Import File" button on the home page, or when within a Folder
RedSpec™ is connected with the Simpson Hanger Selection Engine for real-time, up-to-date hanger information

Custom Hangers
- If the cloud-based Simpson Strong-Tie® Hanger Engine does not return a result due to special criteria, use the Custom Hanger feature to display the required hanger in the Print Report
- The input to use this feature in on the Hangers tab

Miscellaneous Bug fixes

Uniform Wind Load can be input as an Application Load (full length)
- Instead of adding a wind load in the Uniform Load tab, you can now input the load easily in the Application Load tab

Roaming Load can be input in the Application Load tab
- Like Trusses, the user can now input a roaming load on I-Joists and Rectangular sections. Analyzes one additional concentrated dead load at worst case locations.

- Shared with me - see only projects that have been shared with you by other users
- Owned by me - see only projects owned by you

Miscellaneous Bug fixes

Concentrated Live Load for Roof Members can be input in the Application Load tab
- Concentrated load is a code prescribed live load that is checked over a 30” square area in addition to dead loads (all other live loads removed). For a Roof subject to maintenance workers, the minimum concentrated load is 300 lbs per the IBC Table 1607.1. The user can also input a custom value.
